World Harvest Charities and Family Services, in partnership with the Crowell Family YMCA, is launching a new initiative to provide essential food support to families affected by recent fires.
By News Desk
Starting in mid-September, the organizations will offer weekly food distributions every Tuesday for families already connected to the YMCA’s Fire Relief program.
The initiative will provide families with access to a variety of nourishing, fresh food, including produce, bread, rice, beans, milk, eggs, proteins (both fresh and frozen), and other essential items. These distributions are designed to ensure families have consistent access to nutritious food as they focus on recovery and rebuilding their lives.
The Crowell YMCA (1605 Garfield Avenue, South Pasadena, CA 91030), currently serves over 450 households and supports 15-20 families daily during its operating hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The YMCA has a strong history of assisting families impacted by disasters, making it a trusted partner in providing ongoing support to those affected by the recent fires.
World Harvest Charities will deploy a dedicated bilingual team to manage the distributions and collaborate with YMCA staff to ensure that the community’s needs are met.
“This initiative gives us the opportunity to show up for families who are facing unimaginable challenges after the fires,” said Glen Curado, Founder and Executive Director of World Harvest Charities. “We are fortunate to work with respected partners like the Crowell Y, their volunteers, and the many communities they serve. Together we will bring nutritious, quality food to those rebuilding their lives. Angelenos take care of each other, and together we can make a meaningful difference.”
The partnership between World Harvest Charities and the Crowell YMCA reflects a growing community effort to combat food insecurity while helping families recover. For more information about World Harvest Charities and their programs, visit their website.
