Katherine Ella Wood (vocals), Jonathan Richards (bass), Felipe Fraga (percussion), and Marcel Camargo (guitar) will take you on a journey through the vibrant sounds of Brazil and beyond, exploring how bossa nova connects with music from around the world. Hosted by World Music Department Chair Megan Shung, this fun, interactive performance is perfect for all ages. - August 2: PCM Jazz Faculty & Friends
PCM Jazz Faculty & Friends take the stage with Nicole McCabe (saxophones), Aaron Janik (trumpet), Jonathan Richards (bass), Sam Hirsh (keys), and the incomparable Roy McCurdy on drums. A jazz icon, McCurdy is best known for his decades-long work with Cannonball Adderley, as well as recordings with Sonny Rollins, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, and countless others.
