Tina Fredericks, a mother of two PUSD students, has declared her candidacy for Pasadena Unified School Board of Education, District 6.
Tina Fredericks is a software engineer and a public school teacher. In a letter to the community, she announced the following:
Like so many PUSD parents, I have grown extremely frustrated by the repeated school closures and the impact these have on our community. The school board’s lack of communication to parents and the community has caused us to lose confidence in PUSD’s leadership. We need to reestablish trust in our district’s leadership so that we can collectively work toward a positive future for PUSD.
Tina Wu Fredericks summarized her platform by saying:
I want to establish an inclusive environment that brings parents, teachers, business people, community members, and public and non-profit providers together for the benefit of our schools. We need to instill integrity in our decision-making process, empower PUSD families, and focus on establishing equity for all students. In order to better promote PUSD’s quality programs to the public, we need to utilize technology to improve PUSD communication and marketing.
