The CalArts Hands On’semble, a contemporary percussion ensemble devoted to the art of hand drumming, will be playing the Levitt Pavilion on Thursday.

Celebrating the legacy of the great John Bergamo (1940–2013), one of the most influential creative figures in CalArts history.

Since the group’s inception in 1997, Hands On’Semble has developed a repertoire of original compositions that blend the rhythmic concepts, forms, and techniques of a variety of drumming cultures from around the world.
