Pasadena City College (7-7) lost a 10-inning thriller 5-2 to Long Beach City College (10-3) this past Thursday. Although leading in hits, the PCC Lancers were unable to secure the win after allowing three runs to the Vikings in the 10th.

PCC started strong in the 3rd inning taking an early 1-0 lead thanks to a David Munoz single to right field, and continued with another run scored off a Tyler Garcia single in the fourth.

The Long Beach Vikings responded to erase their 2-0 deficit with a two-run fifth off a double and sacrifice fly. The Pasadena Lancers would fail on attempts to retake the lead and the game would finish the ninth tied 2-2.

All three final runs came off a two-run double and one-run single by the Vikings in the 10th inning. They secured their 5-2 win in the first game of the three-game weekend series against the Lancers. They would go on to win the two remaining games 16-9 and 10-3.

Jameson Fererro pitched deep for the Lancers going eight innings, and allowing two runs on six hits while also striking out four. Jack Esguerra led the offense going three for five with three singles.

The Lancers now prepare to face the 3-12 Rio Honda College Roadrunners and look to bounce back into the win column.
