By News Desk
At approximately 6:03 am on September 6, 2025, a resident called 9-1-1 to report two men who had just left a vacant home and were last seen heading toward Huntington Drive.
Officers arrived and found signs of a break-in at the residence. One suspect was seen carrying a large bag, while the second man, riding a bicycle, fled westbound toward Los Angeles. As an officer pursued the cyclist, the suspect turned down an alley, temporarily evading capture.
Thanks to effective coordination among officers, the bicycle rider was located and detained shortly thereafter on Huntington Lane. A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of a large tool bag and a spool of wire hidden in a nearby dumpster. The witness who reported the crime was able to positively identify the detained man.
The arrested individual was identified as Jose Refugio Juarez, 25, of Los Angeles. He was booked into Pasadena Jail on charges of burglary.
The second suspect remains at large.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the burglary or the second suspect to come forward. Tips can be submitted by calling the South Pasadena Police Department at (626) 403-7265 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
