The City of South Pasadena has appointed Nikima Newsome as its new Chief City Clerk, city officials announced.

Nikima Newsome brings extensive experience in municipal governance, elections, records management, and public law compliance.
Newsome has held key positions including City Clerk and Director of Records and Election Services in Santa Monica, Township Clerk in Mount Holly, New Jersey, Deputy Clerk of Council in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and Regional Liaison for the Ohio Secretary of State.
A holder of a Master of Public Administration, Newsome has a proven track record of supporting city councils, managing elections, and overseeing public records. City leaders expressed enthusiasm about her appointment, highlighting her potential to strengthen transparency and civic operations in South Pasadena.
Residents and colleagues are invited to welcome Newsome as she assumes her new responsibilities.
