The community will gather to witness the sparkling tree lighting and the menorah lighting, marking the beginning of a joyful season. The ceremony will be followed by messages from local city leaders, sharing warm holiday wishes to the community. As always, a standout performance will come from the South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Marching Band, whose energetic and lively music will set the tone for the festivities.
Adding an extra touch of magic to the night, families with young children can visit Santa’s Mesmerizing Magical Mailbox. Located at the museum, this enchanting mailbox allows kids to send a letter to Santa, triggering a dazzling light and music show that will leave everyone in awe.
Festivities will kick off at 4:30 pm, but the South Pasadena Historical Museum, located just steps away, will open its doors at 4:00 pm to welcome visitors. The museum will be offering complimentary holiday sweets and warm cider, courtesy of volunteers from the South Pasadena Preservation Foundation (SPPF).
“This is a beloved tradition for our city, and we are thrilled to bring the community together to celebrate the season,” said a SPPF statement. “The tree lighting and performances will truly set the tone for the holidays and bring joy to all who attend.”
With the city’s tree and menorah brightly illuminated, a festive atmosphere filled with music, and the warmth of the community, this event promises to be the perfect way to ring in the holiday season in South Pasadena.
