The 60th annual Sierra Madre Art Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Sierra Madre Library, will be held in Memorial Park from May 3 – 4.

      By News Desk

More than 60 artists, including 20 newly juried, will be exhibiting. Media include oil paintings, jewelry, watercolors, glass, wood, metal, wearable art, photography, pottery, ceramics, mixed media, and weaving. The featured artist this year is Laura Wambsgans. Her landscape oil painting on linen, “Sycamores Graceful and Glowing,” will appear on all posters, post cards, flyers, and other promotional materials.

Live music will be featured throughout the weekend in the Bandshell and southeast section of the park. Guests will enjoy an eclectic selection of music.

      Music at the Bandshell:

      • Saturday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Spectra, an all-girl band from Pasadena (Jazz & Pop)
      • Saturday, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Abracadabra (Latin Pop & Smooth Jazz)
      • Sunday, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – Evan Marshall (Mandolin)
      • Sunday, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Steve Trovato & Tim Kobza (Jazz & Country)

Music at the southeast section of the park:

      • Saturday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Banna Beag Mall (Irish & Celtic)
      • Saturday, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Richard Bellikoff (Guitar & Vocals)
      • Sunday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Mayde In Ireland (Irish & Scottish)
      • Sunday, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Emily Laliotis (Guitar & Vocals)

The Friends of the Library will have a booth with special treats. Members and partners are encouraged to stop by for a free coffee and pastry. The Art Center College of Design graduate students will have a table located in the southwest section of the park.

For the children, instructors from the Creative Arts Group have planned a special craft activity – making a face collage using paper, paint, and oil pastels.

There will also be a silent auction. Attendees will have an opportunity to bid on some outstanding artwork and support the Library. All proceeds from the Art Fair benefit the Sierra Madre Public Library.
