Sierra Madre senior homeowners aged 55 and older may now be eligible for grants of up to $17,255 to support essential home repairs through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
By News Desk
The initiative is designed to improve safety, accessibility, and mobility for older adults wishing to remain safely in their homes.
Eligibility centers on three key requirements: applicants must live in single-family, owner-occupied homes, be 55 or older, and meet low- to moderate-income guidelines based on the 2025 HUD income chart.
The program covers a wide range of minor but critical home repairs, including installation of wheelchair ramps and grab bars, roof and electrical work, plumbing repairs, window replacements, tub conversions, and other safety-related upgrades.
Sierra Madre has allocated $160,000 in total CDBG funding. Applications are reviewed on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis until all funds are distributed. The program is expected to renew annually as long as funding continues, and there is currently no fixed deadline for applying.
