The Alhambra Fire Department provided their Hook and Ladder Truck for transporting Santa and Mrs. Claus, who said, “It was a very memorable ride!”
The Tree Lighting Ceremony, at the Garfield and Main Street square, was attended by over 500 local families who cheered and clapped at Santa’s arrival. Mayor Katherine Lee gave a celebratory speech of goodwill and encouraged the families to shop Alhambra to kick off the fun! In a very touching moment, Maya Gutierrez Aviles got to take the first photo with Santa. Maya, who is autistic, waited patiently for her opportunity. Maya’s mom enlisted the help of Councilwoman Adele Andrade Stadler, who stepped up to ensure that everything was in place for that magic moment.
Alhambra high students set up tables and helped entertain the younger attendees. Everyone had a great time as the City of Alhambra wished everyone Happy Holidays!
