The San Gabriel Police Department is bringing back its popular Community Academy program this spring.
By News Desk
This 8-week initiative, starting on March 12, offers an in-depth, interactive overview of the department’s operations, providing participants with unique, hands-on law enforcement experiences.
Designed to foster better understanding between the police and the community, the program includes opportunities for attendees to engage in activities such as police tactics and firearms safety training. It’s an excellent chance for local residents to get an insider’s view of modern law enforcement.
Classes will be held every Wednesday from March 12 to April 20, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, at the San Gabriel Unified School District Board Room, located at 408 South Junipero Serra Drive.
Applications are available online and in person at the San Gabriel Police Station (625 South Del Mar Avenue). However, applicants must submit their applications by Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and pass a basic background check.
For more information, potential participants can reach out to Officer Ramirez via email at cr152@sgpd.com or by phone at (626) 451-5460. Additional details are also available on the program’s website.
