Last week’s San Gabriel farmers market was canceled with short notice, leaving the people wondering what happened.

The market was launched earlier this year on April 27th, 2024. Since then, the success of the market led management to revisit the event.
City Manager Mark Lazzaretto referred to the dwindling attendance, affecting the vendors ability to make an income. He said that they “hope to reinvigorate the market with new and better vendors and then have a grand re-opening to get the excitement going again.” This may take some time.
In the meantime, Gabrielinos can visit the neighboring market in Pasadena on Tuesdays and Fridays and Alhambra on Sundays!

Too bad they stuck the vendors in the little dirty parking lot instead of closing Mission Street for their use! Poor advertisement within SG as well…
I concur with Mr Taylor. I mean, their park and ride lot was so poorly located in terms of actually connecting people to other forms of transportation, that it’s mainly an empty lot except for the odd local car pooler. But hey, it’s a car culture town that believes everyone should own a car and a garage to park it in.
I agree. Mission district doesn’t always need to be open for cars. It would be much nicer on the street
