The Altadena Community Garden is a haven in the community for many gardeners. Surrounded by lush fruit trees, grape vines, and the lovely Loma Alta Park, this garden provides spaces for gardeners to grow whatever they would like.

In her plot at the community garden, Grace is working on growing corn, blackberries, and other veggies you might not be able to find at the grocery store. Grace is a gardener at the community garden and has been an active member for 4 years. She says that many other members have been there much longer, stating that the garden originated in 1970.
More recently, the community garden has added accessible raised plots. They also provide community classes, teaching children and other members of the community about how to grow whatever their heart desires. Not only is this a place for people to spend time outside, but it has a positive environmental impact on the area, with pollinators having a party. Bees, butterflies, birds, lizards, and all sorts of wildlife have found this a haven along with the gardeners, speaking to the importance of biodiversity.
