On Saturday, October 18th, 2025, a special event will take place in Old Pasadena, shedding light on the displacement of African American, Mexican American, and Japanese American families who once called the area home.
By News Desk
The stories of these communities, who were forced to leave due to the construction of the 710 Freeway, will be shared at 9:00 am at the intersection of Holly St. and L Pieroni St.
Through oral histories and personal narratives, attendees will learn about the struggles these families faced when eminent domain displaced them, forever altering the fabric of their neighborhoods. The event aims to preserve these stories, offering a chance for reflection on the history of displacement and its ongoing impact.
