Devin Harrison, a resident of Pasadena, recently won the Akita (Japan) International University President Award for Haiku. A teacher and ardent traveler, he has taught in Thailand, Mexico and Colombia and lives part-time in the Philippines.

Alegria Imperial
steeped in sunset
our eyes on each other
drink wine—
once bitter to the taste
now vaguely honeyed dew
After earning a degree in literature and journalism from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Alegria Imperial worked in government, education, culture, and journalism. She migrated to Vancouver, BC, Canada where she currently publishes in many international journals.

Ashley M. Baldon lives in Chino Hills CA. She is a dancer and teacher, and loves the fantastic and mythical in all things. She is part of the recorded Poets on Site Audio Tour of the Pacific Asia Museum, and publishes in many online journals as the speculative Eye to The Telescope.

Tomislav Maretić, Zagreb, Croatia, is an infectologist at the HIV Ward of the University Hospital for Infectious Diseases. He lives in the little hillside village Vrapce with wife Ana, four children and a tomcat. He has been writing and publishing haiku and tanka internationally for 30 years. Tomislav is an entomologist amateur (lover of insects) in his free time. His own book of haiku and tanka Nebo U Rukavcima (Sky in the Creeks) was published in 2014.
