A portion of the Eaton Fire closure area in the Angeles National Forest has reopened, giving the public renewed access to several popular recreation areas.

Officials released an updated map showing the changes and are urging visitors to review current closure information before heading out.
Among the trails now reopened are Lowe Road, Dawn Mine, Sunset Ridge, Tom Sloane, and Bear Canyon Trails.
However, several trails and roads remain closed to ensure public safety and allow for continued recovery efforts. Trails that are still closed include the Sam Merrill Trail, Idlehour Trail, the Echo Mountain area, and the Eaton Canyon area.
The following roads remain closed:
- Mount Wilson Toll Road (below Mt. Wilson Trail)
- Mount Wilson Toll Road (below Henniger Flats)
- Mount Wilson Road at Henniger Flats
The following trails remain closed:
- Idlehour Trail
- Castle Canyon Trail
- Sam Merrill Trail (Lower, Middle, and Upper sections)
- Echo Mountain Trail
- Mount Lowe West Trail
- Mount Lowe Trail (East)
Visitors are encouraged to download and review the updated closure map and to respect all posted signs and barriers while visiting the Angeles National Forest.
