Polytechnic School, a private high school in Pasadena, was ranked second best private high school in Los Angeles and twentieth in the nation.

The ranking, done by Best Academics, ranked 1,993 private high schools in the nation. It was based on achievement statistics and more than 57,000 opinions on academics from 15,000 students and parents.
Polytechnic School, with close to 860 students in grades K-12, was ranked second (2nd) in Los Angeles, sixth (6th) in California, and twentieth (20th) in the nation.
Westridge School, a private all-girls school in Pasadena, with 487 students in grades 4-12, came in eighth (8th) in Los Angeles, twentieth (20th) in California, and ninety third (93rd) in the nation.

A high ranking indicates that the school has diverse, high-achieving students who are very happy with the quality of education, the teachers are intelligent and engaging, and the students go on to great colleges.
An additional 1,899 schools received a grade but were not eligible for ranking.
