Beth Zimmer Cunningham
folded secrets, attic scents
memories unearthed
deliberately placed for me
she whispers from the grave
adults forbidden playground
Beth Zimmer Cunningham (b.1977) lives in Peachtree City, Georgia. Not really a poet by nature, but her brother, Brian Zimmer, always encouraged her when the words just seemed to flow. This poem was written after their mother’s death, and finding old letters in their family attic.

a frozen river
which way should I go
when I’m no longer carried
in one direction?
Kat Lehmann,(Connecticut, USA) is a scientist-poet who enjoys exploring the grandiose captured within the minute. Her book, Moon Full of Moons, describes a journey to newfound happiness according to the phases of the Moon. During unusual or challenging times, she imagines, the Moon might decide to pull down the Sun and glow from within, just like we do. She can be found looking skyward or on twitter @SongsOfKat.

the sun circles east to west
moonrise follows
changing her radiant veil
your voice is missing
why does time feel still?
Briony James says “Unusual times often combine loss and discovery in equal measures. Briony James keeps finding this to be true in Altadena’s foothills.”

I made her the old
dishes she used to make
for Thanksgiving
she brought nothing to her lips
but my hand she kissed it
