      – 3/21/18

      Hosted by Kathabela Wilson

In complicated times, we look for simplicity and clarity. I find that nature is emphatic, it makes things clear and provides a simple persistence that gives consolation and possibilities. Combined with human imagination it provides ‘another world’ of myth, dream and intuition. Spring comes anyway, in winter. We look for simple clarity, plant seeds, and bloom anyway.

      Michael Czarnecki

crow flies over snow covered field
      stark contrast, stark beauty
      black movement, white stillness
      nothing complicated here
      when crow disappeared
      white field remained

      Ο

      if I turn light off
      room becomes dark
if I turn light back on
      darkness disappears
      simple flick of a switch
      changes everything

      Daily Spontaneous Poem #1196
      3/19/18

      Ο

      underneath piles of snow
seeds wait for sun, for warmth
      soon, soon

      underneath this bodily shell
      inner essence waits for connection
      soon, soon

Michael Czarnecki lives in Wheeler Hill, New York where winter is stretching out and seeds are waiting. He earns a living with poetry, publishing many other poets books with his Foothill Press, and traveling nationwide giving workshops and readings. He posts a daily spontaneous poem on Facebook. Some of these will be included in his new book titled “YOU” forthcoming 3/26/18. It can be ordered with free shipping until March 25.

      a looking glass
      portal from one world
      to the next…

      Ο

      it occurs to me
      to retreat
      from this world-
      as if another world
      might exist

Tom Clausen, a longtime honored poet inspires many with his daily posts on Facebook as he walks the woods near his home, in Ithaca, New York. He writes and photographs as he walks, treasuring the small details of life.

      Karla Decker

      no wind
      clear night sky
      in the lake
      twice as many stars
      as there really are

Karla Decker has lived in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Minnesota but never felt at home until she
moved to beautiful, unpretentious Nebraska. The plan when she moved there was to stay for one year, fifty years ago and she has never regretted staying. Her poem sparkles with insight and this very positive, and yet realistic, inspired point of view.

        cold winter
        still popping out
        of some leaves in pot;
        grandeur in stay calm
        for some time now;
        fallen twigs and branches
foray we will have rebirth again.

        A walk in my garden
        all round snow capped ,
        Beyond this transparency ,
        this numb idleness, a crave
Of buds eager to spread out
        their smiles, some pecking is
        on elsewhere, little girl
        dancing looking at sky.
        Hope blossoms .

        Oh my Gawd

        where did my shadow go?
It must’ve been stolen by a crow
& now that winter has gone ho-ho
I’m sucking on my Vodka straw
