Here
Come near me now,
and let me
sleep,
entwined in your dreams,
for a whilelet the bright shadows
do the seeing let me smile
at your haunting
gaze, and the breezes
through the unwatched windowkindle
the embers back
into flame –
and let me remember
nothing of the pastnot
even
your name –
and not even
wanting
Peter Shefler poet, and artistic photographer, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, strives to kindle, tend and follow the fire’s light: He loves the vision of Auguste Rodin who says “In order to express life, to render nature, one must will and will and will with all the strength of heart and brain: Nature exceeds – and greatly – human genius.” Always seeking to maintain a deep connection to the mystery of the natural world , Peter was raised in a remote rural area of Western Pennsylvania filled with nature’s wonders, and nurtured by a family of visual artists, he has been writing poetry since the age of twelve.
