In the past several days the Pasadena Police Department has received numerous calls from citizens reporting to have received phone calls from persons impersonating police officers and sheriff’s deputies.
The callers are requesting personal information and asking for money. Some callers are also accusing people of not showing up for jury duty and owing money.
Take precautions
- Beware of phone solicitors impersonating law enforcement.
- Report any suspicious telephone calls from people claiming to be a law enforcement officer or agent.
- Do not provide personal information over the telephone.
- Do not render payment to this type of solicitation.
- Law enforcement officials will not request money in lieu of an arrest.
