This scholarship aims to support high school seniors in Pasadena pursuing higher education and is part of PWP’s commitment to fostering local talent and encouraging community investment.
“As a community-owned utility, PWP takes pride in empowering local youth through educational programs and initiatives with the goal of encouraging environmental stewardship, resource mindfulness, and community investment through creative exploration,” said David Reyes, PWP Interim General Manager.
Each year, PWP awards two scholarships to exceptional high school seniors in Pasadena. The first-place recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship, while the second-place winner will be awarded $2,500. These scholarships are intended to support students as they pursue higher education at a two- or four-year accredited institution.
To apply, students are required to submit a video response to this year’s prompt. The video, which should be no longer than five minutes, should address the student’s passion for a STEM-related field and how their passion could contribute to the public and utility sector, as well as improve the overall health of the planet.
Students interested in applying can find more information and details about the scholarship program on the official PWP website at PWPweb.com/Scholarship.
