Join Pasadena Village at W & P Pharmacy on Friday, March 22, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm to get the latest COVID-19 vaccine, and Pasadena Village will give you a free $20 gift card.

      By News Desk

Pasadena Village, a nonprofit organization that supports aging-in-place older adults, is partnering with the Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative, powered by USAging, to make getting your COVID-19 shot a little easier.

Pasadena Village is encouraging everyone to keep vaccinations up-to-date so you, your family, and friends stay healthy and protected. Walk-ins are welcome. You can also register online at this website or call 626-765-6037 (626-219-0073 en español).

If you can’t make it on March 22, call Pasadena Village for vaccine information, help scheduling an appointment, or arranging a free ride for you to your appointment at a time and location that works for you. Participants who call still will be eligible for a free gift card. For details, visit this website or call 626-765-6037 (626-219-0073 en español).

The W & P Pharmacy is located at 9205 Whittier Blvd, Pico Rivera, CA 90660. Call 626-765-6037 (626-219-0073 en español) for additional information or to request a free ride to the clinic. If you have questions for the pharmacist about your eligibility or insurance, call the W & P Pharmacy at 562-566-3160 (English y español). Bring your COVID-19 Vaccination Card (if applicable), and Medicare or other insurance information.

Is it time for you to get another dose?

On February 28, 2024, CDC Director Mandy Cohen endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation for adults ages 65 years and older to receive an additional updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose. The recommendation acknowledges the increased risk of severe disease from COVID-19 in older adults, along with the currently available data on vaccine effectiveness.

Previous CDC recommendations ensured that people who are immunocompromised are already eligible for additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Data continues to show the importance of vaccination to protect those most at risk for severe outcomes of COVID-19. An additional dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine may restore protection that has waned since a fall vaccine dose, providing increased protection to adults ages 65 years and older.

Pasadena Village is a nonprofit organization of adults over 55 whose mission is to foster vital independent living in a spirit of mutual support, enrichment, and inclusiveness.
