In light of the surge of COVID-19 and as California prepares for stricter “Safer at Home” orders, PUSD has opted to delay certain measures.
By News Desk
The instructional days scheduled for December 3-9, 2020 have been postponed. Members of United Teachers of Pasadena (UTP) will prepare their classrooms for in-person learning. Normal synchronous instruction is now scheduled for students and teachers for December 3, 4, 7, and December 7-9, 2020. New dates for future instructional days will be determined by December 18, 2020. The current “Safer at Home” orders allow for school and district employees to continue working from offices and school sites.
Return to In-Person Instruction Delayed
With the COVID-19 surge, the anticipated return to campuses for in-person instruction will not occur on January 11, 2021. PUSD students will remain in distance learning until public health conditions allow us to return to in-person learning. It is possible that schools will be able to open in the Spring semester.
In-Person Programs
Consistent with state guidance about existing programs, LEARNs and the Blair International Academy will remain open with safety protocols in place. Special education services for small groups of students with disabilities are on hold. Conditioning for Athletics programs is on hold.
Return to School Survey Date Extended
Families have been asked for their preference for in-person or remote instruction. A Return to School survey has been extended and will remain open until further notice. For more information about the survey, visit pusd.us/survey.
