Ongoing guidance from CDC and CDPH is currently approved by California Department of Education (CDE). Distance learning in the Fall is approved in the form of Independent Study. PUSD anticipates that any options will be provided in the Governor’s May Revision of the 2021-2022 State Education Budget publication on or about May 20, 2021.
Any stipulations on COVID-19 safety measures are implemented in accordance with ongoing guidance by California Department of Public Health and CalOSHA, the Division of Occupational Safety and Health. Safety measures shall be negotiated in a timely manner to allow for the opening of schools for the 2021-2022 school year in a five day a week model.
The PUSD district will implement a plan for a full reopening of all schools in all grades for in-person instruction by the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. Resolution No. 2610 was passed unanimously by the PUSD Board of Education and is subject to negotiations with PUSD’s Labor Partners. A new (MOU) Memorandum of understanding will be negotiated with (UTP) United Teachers of Pasadena.
