At its annual organizational meeting on December 11, 2023, the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education named Kimberly Kenne as its president for the 2024 calendar year. Jennifer Hall Lee will serve as vice president and Tina Fredericks as clerk. Board officers serve one-year terms in these roles.

Kimberly Kenne was first elected to the Board of Education in 2011 and represents District 1. She has been actively involved as a parent leader at the school, district, and state levels, serving on school site councils, PTAs, and the District Advisory Council. She is a founding member of the Pasadena Education Network (PEN), which works to build family engagement in local public schools. A systems integration expert by profession, Kenne combines her passion for genuine parent engagement in education with a commitment to compliance with state and federal law when it comes to spending public dollars.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity to serve the students and community of Pasadena Unified,” said Kenne. “The Board will have many challenges in the coming year from continuing lower daily attendance and learning loss caused by the pandemic, to important decisions on facilities spending and potential state budget reductions for education. But I believe that every member of this Board desires to ensure that our students have the best educational outcomes possible and is willing to work together towards that goal.”
Jennifer Hall Lee was named Board Vice President. Hall Lee was elected in 2020 to the Board of Education to represent District 2 and has led the Superintendent’s Enrollment Committee since 2022. Prior to being elected to the Board of Education, she served for three terms on the Altadena Town Council from 2014-2020. An unwavering supporter of public schools, she re-established the Altadena Town Council Education Committee to introduce PUSD schools in Altadena to residents. She is also a writer, has produced her own independent documentary films, and was a member of Local 700 and IATSE Local 16.
Tina Fredericks was elected to the Board of Education in 2020 and represents District 6. She is a product of public schools and taught middle and high school math. Fredericks is an active parent volunteer and has served on the PTA Board.
