Taking top honors this year is Alice Z., a 5th grader from Polytechnic School, who won first place for her creative and impactful submission. Second place went to Sharon X., also a 5th grader, from Crestview Preparatory School. Olivia H., an 11th grader from Westridge School, earned third place, while a special honorable mention was awarded to Barron G., a kindergartener from Mayfield Junior School.
The contest, held in partnership with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD), is open to all Pasadena students in grades K–12 living within PWP’s service area. Entries were submitted in May, with students delivering original artwork that encourages mindful water use and conservation.
As a community-owned utility, PWP emphasizes education and engagement with local youth through programs like this art contest. The four winning pieces have also been submitted to MWD for potential inclusion in its annual student art calendar.
“We are proud of our young artists not only for their beautiful artwork, but also for their understanding of what it means to be water wise,” said David Reyes, PWP General Manager. “Their artwork is a celebration of the passion young people in our community have for water, and for protecting this essential resource.”
Next year’s art contest is set to open in February 2026 and will conclude in May. For more details and to view the winning artworks, visit PWP’s website.
