Pasadena will modify operating hours for several city departments in observance of Lincoln’s and Washington’s Birthdays on Thursday, Feb. 12, and Monday, Feb. 16. Many public-facing services will close for the holidays, while essential operations continue uninterrupted.

      By News Desk

City Hall and numerous departments will be closed on both holidays. The City Service Center (CSC) will not operate on Feb. 12 or Feb. 16, reopening on Friday, Feb. 13, and Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 8:00 am. Despite the closures, trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will proceed on the normal schedule with no delays for residents.

Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) reminds customers that power emergencies should be reported to (626) 744-4673, and water emergencies to (626) 744‑4138. While PWP’s Customer Service Call Center will be closed on both holidays, customers may still make payments or access their accounts via the automated system at (626) 744‑4005 or online at PWPWeb.com.

      Parking and Transportation

The Municipal Services Payment Center and Parking Office will be closed on both holidays. Parking meters will be free, and time limits will not be enforced. However, overnight parking restrictions, red‑curb violations, and fire‑hydrant blockages will still be cited. Meter enforcement resumes Feb. 13 and Feb. 17. Pasadena Transit and Dial‑A‑Ride will maintain regular service.

      Other Department Schedules

      • Housing Department: Closed Feb. 12 and Feb. 16; normal operations resume Feb. 17.
      • Permit Center: Closed both holidays, though many services remain available online. In‑person services resume Feb. 13 and Feb. 17.
      • Pasadena Public Library: All branches closed Feb. 12; open Feb. 13. Branches will also close Feb. 15–16, reopening Feb. 17.
      • Parks, Community & Recreation: Parks remain open, but no site reservations will be accepted. Community and recreation centers will be closed Feb. 12 and Feb. 16.
      • Public Health Department: Closed Feb. 12 and Feb. 16. Upcoming vaccine clinics are scheduled for Feb. 18 and Feb. 23. The department encourages residents to protect themselves from respiratory viruses by masking indoors, staying home when ill, and getting vaccinated.

      Public Safety and City Council

The Pasadena Police Department’s Records Front Counter and Property Section will be closed, but police and fire personnel will continue providing full emergency services. For life‑threatening emergencies, residents should call 9‑1‑1. Non‑emergency assistance and suspicious‑activity reports can be directed to (626) 744‑4241.

City Council will not meet on Monday, Feb. 16. The next scheduled meeting is Monday, Feb. 23.
