A few dozen demonstrators gathered Friday night at the busy intersection of Garfield Avenue and Main Street in Alhambra, calling for an end to any local collaboration with federal immigration authorities. Waving signs that read “ICE Out,” protesters chanted as passing drivers honked in support.

      By News Desk

The event drew a mix of community members, including a Chinese lion dance troupe that performed to help draw attention to the cause. Organizers said the weekly demonstrations will continue “until ICE is gone,” according to a masked protester speaking through a megaphone.

The group, ICE Out of Alhambra, plans to bring its demands directly to city leaders at Monday night’s Alhambra City Council meeting. They intend to call for increased police accountability, the establishment of ICE‑free zones within the city, a halt to any cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration agents, and clearer communication to residents about their constitutional rights and the role of local police.

The Friday gathering marked the latest in a series of ongoing protests as activists push for policy changes at the municipal level.
