During the week of January 25–31, 2026, library patrons are encouraged to share their personal library experiences through an online survey available on the Pasadena Public Library homepage. The effort is part of a broader campaign involving public libraries across California, highlighting their role as vital community hubs that provide learning opportunities, connection, essential services, and trusted information for residents.
“The Pasadena Public Library staff work hard to provide our community with a wide range of programs and services,” said Library Director Tim McDonald. “We want to know more about not only how and why our community uses the library, but to hear from the community directly about their own library experiences.”
California State Librarian Greg Lucas emphasized the importance of the initiative in demonstrating the value of libraries statewide. “We all know the value of public libraries and the strong return on investment they provide,” Lucas said. “Every Story Counts will help us create a more complete picture of the extraordinary range of activities that happen in libraries across the state.”
Throughout the survey week, Pasadena Public Library will invite patrons to share stories about their visits, whether they are attending storytime with a child, using library computers, borrowing items ranging from books to sewing machines, asking questions, or taking part in other library services.
