Join the Pasadena Public Library in celebrating Disability Pride Month this July.
By Katlyn Ong
The month commemorates the July 1990 passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”). This Disability Pride Month honors the history, achievements, and unique contributions of individuals with disabilities while acknowledging the challenges and experiences disabled people face in society.
The disability community is richly diverse and integral to Pasadena and the world around us. This month, Tim McDonald, Director of Libraries and Information Services, and the department will host several adaptive art programs, inviting everyone to actively create a more inclusive society through education and community engagement.
