        Pasadena Public Library Celebrates 102 Years of Summer Reading!

      Since 1921, Pasadena Public Library has held its Summer Reading and Activity Program to foster community, aid children in knowledge and skill retention, and encourage the importance of lifelong learning.

      This summer’s theme is “Find Your Voice.” It encourages participants to explore the power of their voice to share stories, express themselves, and ignite change. Children, teens, and adults are invited to sign up online or stop by a branch library to sign up in person.

      Highlighted Performances and Programs

      Arty Loon Magic Show

      Magician and more, Arty Loon will include tons of audience participation! Balloons, magic, juggling, and puppetry are packed into one show. The whole family will enjoy this fun, participatory show.

      Bubble-Ology 101

      Learn about the science of bubbles in a fun and foamy way! Discover the real-life applications of bubbles and bubble technology. Presented by Full Spectrum Educational Services.

      Buster’s Back!

      Psychic Buster: The Eccentric Mentalist is a human cartoon character with a contagious smile and a silly sense of humor. His performances are a wild and wacky mix of side-splitting comedy, mind-boggling magic and, of course, the most amazing, twisted balloon creations you have ever seen.

      Wild Wonders

      Wildlife biologist and animal trainer Jackie Navarro, a San Diego’s Wild Animal Park veteran, will bring her interactive safari to Pasadena Public Library, where you will meet wildlife face-to-face, from the African savanna to the Amazon rainforest.

      Straight from the world-famous Magic Castle, Allen Oshiro presents an outstanding, well-polished act with astonishing sleight of hand, the amazing floating table, and plenty of audience participation.

      World-class juggler David Cousin will be coming to the library to amaze kids with his tricks! Get ready to be astonished and to laugh out loud during this show.

      Wild Things Animals of Prey with Full Spectrum

      Feel the magic of the rain forest and the desert when Full Spectrum brings a variety of animals, from a 10’ python, a 5’ iguana, spiders, scorpions, and more. Ask questions and interact with the animals. Learn how animals behave and how they differ from each other.
