Pasadena Public Works crews are fully prepared for the City’s annual Christmas tree recycling season, a coordinated effort that begins immediately after the holidays. The program uses both drop-off locations and curbside collection to ensure trees are gathered efficiently and reused in an environmentally responsible way.
During the week following Christmas, residents may drop off their trees at Eaton Blanche Park and Robinson Park. Designated recycling areas will be open from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. from December 26, 2025, through January 2, 2026. Trees should be free of stands, ornaments, and lights before drop-off. All collected trees will be composted and later reused in regional landscaping projects.
For those who prefer curbside service, collection will begin January 5 and continue through January 16, 2026. City of Pasadena Refuse customers may place their trees at the curb on their regular collection day, where crews will incorporate them into the City’s organics recycling stream.
Even after the official collection period ends, residents still have recycling options. Trees may be trimmed to fit inside an organics container, allowing continued participation in the City’s recycling efforts.
