As both local and national events continue to shape the lives of students and families, district leadership and city officials reiterated their support for all members of the school district. The appearance by Chief Harris served to reinforce the close partnership between the police department and PUSD in maintaining schools as environments of learning, inclusion, and calm.
“Our schools are places of learning, inclusion, and calm, and the Pasadena Police Department remains our partner in upholding these values with dignity and respect for all,” said Dr. Elizabeth Blanco, Interim Superintendent of PUSD.
The district is encouraging families, students, and employees to stay informed, remain peaceful, and continue supporting one another. Those with questions or who wish to request participation in future community meetings are invited to contact the Superintendent’s Office at 626-396-3619.
Additionally, PUSD is offering resources to assist those facing immigration-related challenges. Families and employees are encouraged to visit the district’s dedicated webpage at pusd.us/immigrationresources for helpful information and support.
Chief Harris and Dr. Blanco also extended their availability to support families and community members as needed during this time of heightened concern and solidarity.
