Danny Feldman, the Producing Artistic Director of Pasadena Playhouse, has unveiled an expansive slate of community classes designed for theater lovers of all ages. This marks the Playhouse’s largest and most diverse educational offering to date, coming just months after the historic purchase of the Playhouse campus in April 2025.

      By News Desk

These new classes will be part of the Playhouse’s upcoming 2025/2026 season, ushering in a bold new era for the renowned cultural institution.

Feldman expressed his enthusiasm for the expanded programming, stating: “When we dreamed of purchasing our historic property, an active, engaged campus full of students of all ages was always part of the plan. A place where students could learn, grow, and belong. This fall, that vision takes a bold new step forward. We’re not only expanding our offerings for young theatermakers, but we’re also launching new programs for adults and lifelong learners. World-class education has always been at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to invite more of our community to connect with each other and deepen their engagement with the Playhouse.”

The Playhouse will offer a wide range of classes tailored to different age groups—youth, teens, and adults—all designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and a love for the performing arts. Here’s a preview of some of the exciting new offerings:

A Commitment to Accessible Arts Education

Feldman also highlighted the Playhouse’s dedication to accessibility and inclusivity, noting that a limited number of scholarships will be available for all classes on a rolling basis. Participants interested in applying for youth or adult scholarships can do so through the Playhouse’s website.

What to Expect From the Classes:

The classes will cover everything from foundational skills to more advanced, specialized learning experiences. For example, the Teen Design Intensive will offer students an immersive, behind-the-scenes experience with the Pasadena Playhouse production team, culminating in a live post-show discussion. The Acting for Non-Actors class will introduce adults to performance techniques designed to boost confidence in both personal and professional settings.

For younger participants, Little Players: Disney’s Frozen JR. will provide an opportunity for early theater enthusiasts to explore the magic of Disney’s Frozen through acting, singing, and dancing. Meanwhile, Puppetry will allow children ages 7-10 to build and perform with their own puppets.

For those interested in performing arts beyond acting, Your Story Matters: A Storytelling Workshop is a two-day event where participants will learn the art of structuring and sharing personal stories with confidence.

      Enrollment

Enrollment for all classes is now open, and those interested in applying for scholarships are encouraged to do so early. For additional details on classes, including costs, dates, and registration information, visit pasadenaplayhouse.org.
