Pasadena Heritage has announced that Dr. Bridget Lawlor will step into the role of Executive Director, effective December 1, 2025. The organization’s current Preservation Director, Dr. Lawlor will begin serving in an acting capacity on November 1 to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Dr. Lawlor, a respected figure in the field of historic preservation, brings more than 15 years of experience in preservation planning, archival management, and cultural resource stewardship. Since joining Pasadena Heritage in August 2024, she has played a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission to protect and promote Pasadena’s architectural and cultural history.
“Pasadena Heritage was fortunate to recruit Dr. Lawlor as Preservation Director last year and has benefited greatly from her dedication and expertise,” said Board Chair Michael Robleto. “We look forward to her leadership as Executive Director and the positive impact she will continue to have on our organization and community.”
Dr. Lawlor succeeds Zoot Velasco, who has served as Interim Executive Director for the past year. Robleto also expressed gratitude for Velasco’s leadership during the organization’s search for a permanent executive. “We are grateful for Zoot Velasco’s year of interim leadership and thank him for guiding us through this transitional period.”
