The 2020 Pasadena International Film Festival selection has already been screened at many locations throughout the city, such as the Laemmle Theater, Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Pasadena Central Library, and Pasadena City College. The documentary features over 30 interviews with local residents, elected officials, service providers, police officers, and activists who have been impacted by the culture of gang violence in some way.
The film’s director and Pasadena native, Steven Sneed, had this to say about the film’s online release and free streaming:
This documentary was a passion project. For two years we facilitated free screenings and community forums throughout Pasadena. As COVID-19 suddenly changed how we interact, people started working from home, and school is currently online. Friends, co-workers, and community members have reached out expressing that they would love to show this film to their youth and other organizations. I believe this is the perfect opportunity to share this impactful film with our community.
