Pasadena’s business community earned widespread recognition in Los Angeles Business Journal’s The Lists 2026, underscoring the city’s continued role as a hub for innovation, industry, and economic vitality across the Los Angeles region. Pasadena-based companies were recognized across a broad range of sectors, reflecting the city’s diverse economy and global reach.

Several Pasadena-headquartered companies ranked at the top of their respective categories. Tetra Tech earned the #1 position among Environmental Engineering and Consulting Firms, highlighting Pasadena’s influence in sustainability, infrastructure, and advanced technical services. Dine Brands Global also claimed the #1 ranking on the Top Franchisers list, showcasing the city’s presence in consumer brands with worldwide reach. East West Bank ranked #3 in Corporate Philanthropy, reflecting a strong culture of civic engagement alongside business success.
Pasadena’s strength in life sciences and technology was further demonstrated by Xencor and Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals being named among Top Bioscience Companies, while AllSafe IT and PACT-One Solutions were recognized among Top Cybersecurity Companies. The city’s professional services sector was represented by Lagerlof, LLP, which was included among Top Law Firms.
Major employers such as ACCO Engineered Systems and Inter-Con Security were recognized among Top Private Companies, underscoring their significant economic impact. Pasadena’s hospitality sector was also represented, with The Langham Huntington and The Westin Pasadena named among Top Hotels.
Economic Development Director David Klug said the recognitions highlight the city’s broad-based business strength. “This recognition reflects the strength and diversity of Pasadena’s business community, from global leaders to growing companies. We welcome businesses across the region to explore opportunities in Pasadena and learn more about what Pasadena can offer,” Klug said.
Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO Dan Batrack reflected on the company’s roots in the city, noting that since its founding in Pasadena 60 years ago, the firm has grown into a global technical leader with more than 25,000 staff. From its Pasadena headquarters, Tetra Tech continues to support communities across Los Angeles and beyond, addressing challenges ranging from water scarcity to recovery efforts following the 2025 LA fires.
