People enjoying biking and walking in Pasadena. Photo by V.S.A document posted on a publicly accessible Metro web site (where draft board reports are usually posted)* shows Metro’s staff recommendations for the bicycling and walking Open Streets (Ciclovías) festivals for 2015 and 2016.

Although the document is in a preliminary stage, it reveals new venues for the festivals by spreading into new cities and neighborhoods.

Here’s a partial list of the recommendations:

      Spring 2015

      • El Monte, South El Monte, Rosemead, Temple City, San Gabriel, and Monterey Park – “San Gabriel Valley Earth Day Festival”.
      • Pasadena – “CicLAvia Pasadena”: East-west route on Colorado Boulevard with connections to Metro Gold Line stops at Del Mar, Memorial Park, Lake, and Allen stations.

      Spring 2016

      • Downey – “Downey Ride and Stride”: A loop route located 0.4 miles from the Metro Green Line.
      • South Pasadena, San Marino, Pasadena, Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale, and Azusa – “San Gabriel Valley Golden Streets”: Event to coincide with the grand opening of the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension.

      Spring/Summer 2016

      • Santa Monica – “Expo Opens Santa Monica”: Event to coincide with the opening of the Metro Expo Line Phase 2. The route includes Colorado Avenue and Main Street.

      * The document is not officially made public. The full report will be released early June and may differ from the original document that was published on the site.

It does not say what it is. All it says is a festival is planned.
