        Noya Wang Announces Candidacy for Alhambra City Council

      Former Chair of the Alhambra Planning Commission Noya Wang has officially declared her candidacy for Alhambra City Council.

      Noya Wang is a Civil Engineer and currently serves as the Public Works Director for the City of Rosemead.

      “I am running for Alhambra City Council, District 4 so I can be your voice at City Hall. I have real experience, and will deliver real results. I will leverage my unique background, professional experience, and proven track record in public service to work for the collective good of our city, where all Alhambrans can thrive,” said Wang.

      As the Chair of the Alhambra Planning Commision, Wang worked to expand affordability in housing, support small businesses, expand open and green spaces, focus on community safety and walkability across the city, and expand meaningful public engagement. As a Civil Engineer, she’s “focused on improving the quality of life for residents by being fiscally responsible, protecting taxpayer dollars, and promoting transparency and accountability in city government. I’m ready to champion efforts to protect our natural resources and create a greener and more sustainable future for our community.”

      Noya Wang

      Noya Wang is a mother, wife, first-generation Asian American immigrant, and Civil Engineer.

      Noya Wang received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Structural Engineering from UC Berkeley, and she is a licensed Civil Engineer and Structural Engineer. Wang is the former Chair of the Alhambra Planning Commission where she worked to expand affordability in housing, support small businesses, expand open and green spaces and promote community safety and walkability. Wang is currently the Director of Public Works for the City of Rosemead, and lives in Alhambra. As a PTA mom, she volunteers in the classroom to help integrate science and engineering with social emotional development, and organizes engaging STEM activities to holistically nurture little minds and ensure the success of the next generation.

      Four candidates: Noya Wang, Katie Chan, Nicolas Kiet Quach and Je-Show Yang are running for the Dist. 4 seat. The domain name noyawang4alhambra.com was registered on May 1, 2024. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
