Norooz in Pasadena, a non-secular celebration of numerous people, has been celebrated for thousands of years from people in Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
These people from different backgrounds come together to celebrate the New Year and the beginning of Spring. It has become a well anticipated annual tradition in the San Gabriel Valley.
Norooz advocates values of peace and unity between generations and within families as well as reconciliation and friendliness, thus contributing to cultural diversity and companionship among people and different communities.
Norooz Pasadena serves a mission to deteriorate the barriers between cultures and to unite members of the community, regardless of their race or cultural background. Norooz is not only a new year, rather a concept of love and peace.
