        The minimum wage in the state of California has increased to $15.50 per hour for all employers (effective 1/1/23).

        Some jurisdictions (cities and counties) have enacted higher minimum wages, like the City of Pasadena where the minimum wage is $16.11 (effective 7/1/2022).

        The minimum applies to full-time, part-time and temporary workers. There is no distinction made between adults and minors when it comes to payment of the minimum wage.
