          Road Closure

          Mount Wilson Observatory is currently inaccessible due to the closure of Red Box Road. As a result, the observatory is taking an unexpected pause. Officials have stated that updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available. Visitors are asked for their patience during this time.

          Storm Hillary is above Los Angeles with winds of up to 45 miles per hour bringing heavy rain and dangerous road flooding.

          CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:

          The following areas in the Angeles National Forest are currently closed until further notice:

          • San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area.
          • Rowher OHV Area.
          • Wildwood Picnic Site.
          • Switzer Picnic Site.

          Also, Los Angeles County has closed Chaney Trail, which means parking for Millard Trail Camp and other trails from this area is not available until further notice.

          PCC CLOSES CAMPUSES ON MONDAY:

          Pasadena City College officials decided to close all campuses on Monday, August 21. Although their Facebook had  an old message informing the opening of campus (as of publication), their X account (formerly Twitter) announced the campuses closure in the early evening.

          ALHAMBRA & SAN GABRIEL UNIFIED SCHOOLS WILL BE OPEN:

          Alhambra Unified schools will be open on Monday, August 21st.  San Gabriel Unified also opted to open their schools PUSD, LAUSD and SDUSD opted to close schools out of concerns for students' safety.
