          High winds can cause downed power lines/wires. Never touch or approach a downed power line; it can cause serious injury or death. Consider all power lines energized and dangerous. Don’t touch anyone or anything in contact with a downed power line. Lines do not have to be arcing or sparking to be live. Don't try to use tools such as a branch to move a downed line.         • HILARY ABOVE LOS ANGELES::

          Storm Hillary is above Los Angeles with winds of up to 45 miles per hour bringing heavy rain and dangerous road flooding.

        • CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE::

          The following areas in the Angeles National Forest are currently closed until further notice:

          • San Gabriel Canyon Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area.
          • Rowher OHV Area.
          • Wildwood Picnic Site.
          • Switzer Picnic Site.

          Also, Los Angeles County has closed Chaney Trail, which means parking for Millard Trail Camp and other trails from this area is not available until further notice.

          National Weather Service: "Dangerous  flooding in the Malibu area between Point Dume, Point Mugu, Camarillo, Westlake Village Somis and Spanish Hills."

        • PCC CLOSES CAMPUSES ON MONDAY::

          Pasadena City College officials decided to close all campuses on Monday, August 21. Although their Facebook had  an old message informing the opening of campus (as of publication), their X account (formerly Twitter) announced the campuses closure in the early evening.

        • RAIN & WIND::

          As of 7:15 pm, rain and wind are intensifying in the region. Residents are advised to remain indoors if possible.

        • ALHAMBRA & SAN GABRIEL UNIFIED SCHOOLS WILL BE OPEN::

          Alhambra Unified schools will be open on Monday, August 21st.  San Gabriel Unified also opted to open their schools PUSD, LAUSD and SDUSD opted to close schools out of concerns for students' safety.

        • ROAD DAMAGE IN SANTA CLARITA::

          Motorists are asked to avoid a part of Sand Canyon Road in Santa Clarita after parts of it collapsed.
