Mount Wilson Observatory is currently inaccessible due to the closure of Red Box Road. As a result, the observatory is taking an unexpected pause. Officials have stated that updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available. Visitors are asked for their patience during this time.
High winds can cause downed power lines/wires. Never touch or approach a downed power line; it can cause serious injury or death. Consider all power lines energized and dangerous. Don’t touch anyone or anything in contact with a downed power line. Lines do not have to be arcing or sparking to be live. Don’t try to use tools such as a branch to move a downed line.
