Join the South Pasadena Public Library for an engaging lecture by Mark Bedor, director, writer, editor, and host of Today’s Wild West.
By Katlyn Ong
Bedor will discuss his experience in TV production, give an overview of the process of creating a documentary-style show, and share his love of the Wild West.
Today’s Wild West is an exciting, award-winning, documentary-style, half-hour TV series on all things Western: cattle drives, dude ranches, Western art, artisans, music, movies, Native American culture, historic sites, and more. Shot on location in 14 Western states, 45 G-rated episodes air on PBS in 89 markets in 32 states, plus Tubi, YouTube, and many other stations and platforms.
A three-time winner of the National Cowboy Museum’s Western Heritage Award, Mark Bedor is a long-time freelance magazine writer-photographer, author of two Western coffee table photography books, and previously spent a career in local TV News, most recently as a News Writer at KCAL9/CBS2, before focusing on the Great American West. He almost never leaves home without his guitar and often plays a few tunes around the campfire at dude ranches and other Western adventures.
This program is made possible by the support of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library.
