      – 10/29/14

      Michael Angerman

      Its part of our life
we don’t think about it often
      but when we do
      we know we are alone
      forever

Michael Angerman is a former researcher at Caltech. He currently resides in Oregon.

      In the rain bucket
      the moon
      finding its mate

Amir Sapir is a former researcher in biology at Caltech. He continues his research at the university of Haifa, in north Israel.

      The peach tree weeps blood;
      its bony branches offer
      red gems to the frost.

      our Loss
      Words strike clank
      drop into Silence

Blanketed by ice, a slender koi stirs
      dreaming of fairy moss
      and grapefruit.

      River of still waves—
the snow skates across the ice:
      I cross the bridge home.

Noele Norris received her bachelor’s degree from Caltech in 2010 and was one of the founding members of Caltech’s poetry group. She has a master’s in literature from Queen Mary, University of London, and is now a graduate student at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at MIT, where she is currently using her background in robotics and mathematics to study how bacteria swim.

Yes. I am also among those who miss him. I just hope he is so busy writing and enjoying where he is now, that we stay as a pleasant memory which he can revisit any time. If he comes to visit, we will love to have him read what he is creating now. I know how revitalized and inspired I am after I return from my visits to Europe. Maybe we could start an international tributary to our powerful river of creativity in Pasadena and LA, by adding English translations of some exciting world poets. It would widen our horizons without having to physically travel far. Any reaction?

        Thank you, Mira N. Mataric

A place to come for reflection and quietude. Beautiful marriage of image and poems and so good to read each offering. I’ve missed Michael Angerman!
