        Lêberry Bakery Opens in Pasadena

The grand opening on Friday celebration of Lêberry Bakery in the Playhouse District came none too soon–for the owner and for those for whom a highlight of life is having a new eatery to visit.

      By Mike Pashistoran

Originally slated to open in 2018 as the Donut Bar, the owner decided instead to open a full-on bakery. It is not at all easy and wonderful to open a business and keep it open; a bakery seemed less problematic than a donut franchise.

With this kind of opening, you can expect smiles, a good customer turnout, freebies/samples and ribbon-cuttings. Lêberry Bakery had all that plus local dignitaries such as Pasadena’s Mayor Terry Tornek; the executive director of the Playhouse District Association, Brian Wallace; Pasadena Chamber of Commerce President Paul Little; and Congresswoman Judy Chu’s representative.

A woman who grew up in Pasadena, Jennifer Le, owns this new business.  Everyone in attendance was in good spirits, especially Jennifer’s sisters, her pastry chef, Juan, and her bakery manager, Raynard.

With the change in business plan, the daily menu now includes not only donuts, but also pastries, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, coffee, hot chocolate, OJ, water, and milk. Many items are vegan, organic and gluten-free!

At this bakery, you can have your sweets, caffeine — and alcohol, too!

We can tell the readers only so much when it comes to writing on food and drink.  It is going to be up to you to use your taste buds at this new bakery and form your own opinions.

Business hours are 6:30 am to 1:30 pm Monday – Thursday (they will close earlier if they sell out). Hours are extended on weekends.
