Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis released the following statement:
Spaying or neutering our pets is one of the most effective tools we have available to combat the rapid influx of pets into our animal care system. To that end, this motion seeks to bring awareness of the many benefits spaying and neutering provide to animals while at the same time, debunk myths surrounding this issue. I hope that with this free resource, Angelenos come out to our Animal Care Centers throughout the County so that they can adopt a furry friend without having to worry about added costs for spaying and neutering.”
In honor of Spay and Neuter Awareness Month, Supervisor Kathryn Barger announced that she would be allocating $100,000 to the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control to increase spay and neuter services for animals in North Los Angeles County communities.
The approved motion directs the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control to provide free spay/neuter services during February and raise a social media awareness campaign in several languages to promote these services.

These programs not only help control the pet population but also improve the health and well-being of our furry friends. It’s heartening to see communities and organizations coming together to raise awareness about this essential cause.
